It replaced the previous shark IZ201UK with 50% more suction power, long battery life, anti-hair wrap Powerfins technology and an LED display that shows all the current data of the vacuum. Unlike the latest pricier model Shark Stratos IZ400UK, it lacks the IQ sense feature and can’t automatically adjust the suction. However, it still performs well in cleaning bare floors, low and medium pile carpets and stubborn pet hair.

For bare floor: 9.5/10

The Shark iz300uk cordless vacuum is superb for hard floor cleaning. It does a good job of picking up all larger debris like cereal, fine debris like sand and dust, dry dirt like cat litter, and even pet hair from hard surfaces like hardwood and tiles floor without any issues. 

First and foremost, in terms of the average vacuum, while they clean bulky debris like cereal, this material gets stuck at the entry of the vacuum floor head, but the Shark iz300uk pick them up without facing this issue. 

The most exciting thing about the shark iz300uk is its DUO CLEAN floor head design with Powerfins technology. Duo clean brush roller design means it combines two brush rollers, the soft roller at the front and the standard brush roller at the middle of the cleaning head. The soft brush roller always directly engages the hard surface and effectively picks up debris and moves them into the dirt container. It performs surprisingly well on hard surfaces even if you set the suction power at the lower setting.

The previous shark lacked Powerfins technology, and because of that, we faced long hair-wrapping issues around its brush roller. In the shark iz300uk, we haven’t had that issue while testing it on the hard floor for picking up pets and long hair. The silicon fins can actively prevent hair wrapping as well.

Note: If you have pets, you need to clean the soft roller after completing every cleaning session. We noticed that while we tested, a few amounts of pet hair got stuck in the soft roller edge, so you need to clean it manually.

Considering its upper mid-budget, the Shark iz300uk performs superbly on all different low and medium-pile carpets and rugs. Many cordless vacuums like the Vax Blade 4 we’ve tested failed when sucking up cereal size debris from low-pile carpets. Mostly sharks’ previous cordless, such as IZ251UKT and IZ201UKT, were unable to dig deep into the carpet due to their stiff bristle brush roller. But with the Shark iz300uk cordless vacuum with its Powefins brush roller, we were able to clean away all the larger and fine debris from the carpet’s bottom layer. 

There is an individual option to adjust the cleaning head brush roller spinning power and suction level according to the carpet flooring, and three levels of suction settings were admirable when testing it on carpets. You don’t have to maximize the suction level at the maximum position while maintaining regular house cleaning jobs. The medium suction settings have enough power to clean away all types of messes from carpets, even hidden dirt from carpets’ bottom layers.
