At the beginning of the full comparison, we need to disclose a few essential things that will help you properly understand the comparison.

Overview Of The Dyson V8 (UK)

First, the Dyson V8 has two versions: the Dyson V8 Absolute and the V8 Animal. You will get a torque brush head, soft brush roller, motorised pet brush and other accessories in V8 absolute. On the other hand, the V8 animal only lacks the soft brush roller.

What are the major differences between the Dyson V8 and the Dyson V10?

Battery life:

The Dyson V8 gives you a 41-minute run time without attachments in low suction mode. It can hold your cleaning for 9 minutes in high suction mode with the motorised head. On the other hand, the V10 can serve you a cleaning time of around 60 minutes in low suction mode without attachments. V10 has three suction modes, and the mid-suction can hold your cleaning time for 25 minutes with attachments. The battery can last for 6 minutes and 30 seconds in high suction mode with the motorised head. Overall, the V10 is the winner for its long battery life and high suction power.

Suction Power:

You will find a significant difference between the V8 And the V10 Suction power. The V8 boasts 115 AW suction power, and the V10 has 150 AW suction, which is around 30% more than the V8. So, this can be a strong indication to choose the V10 for your daily house cleaning jobs.

Difference Between the Cleaning Heads:

As usual, both the V8 and V10 come with the same soft brush roller design attachment. The main difference is that the V10 torque head has an adjustable gate on the floor head, which is crucial for picking up larger debris on hard floors. On the other hand, the V8 cleaning head lacks this feature.

Dyson v8 vs v10 animal

There is no difference in the attachments of V8 and V10. Both vacuums include similar attachments in their package without the soft brush roller.

The main floor head design, suction power, run time, dustbin capacity, and suction adjusting mode create all the differences between the two models.

The V10 animal will give you 30% more suction power compared to the V8 animal. Also, the V10 floor head is 70% more effective in picking up large debris from hard floors and has a massive carpet agitation power.

Dyson V8 vs V10: Hard floor Test

We test both V8 and V10 animals on hard floors to evaluate their actual pickability. The V8 mostly failed when we tested it on hard floors in picking up larger debris. As a result, it always pushes all the larger debris to its front instead of sucking them.

Interestingly, both the V8 and V10 did a superb cleaning job on carpet flooring without any issues, with attaching the main torque head.

When it comes to cleaning up pet hair from different surfaces and tight spaces, both vacuums are ideal for that job. As usual, both V8 and V10 include motorised pet brushes that can handle all pet hair cleaning jobs on pet beds, tight spaces, stairs, carpets and cars.

If we talk about the pet hair-cleaning effectiveness of both vacuums, there is a drawback: they do not have any anti-tangle feature that may prevent hair from tangling around the brush roller. Dyson’s latest V8 updated version has little combs on top of the agitator brush roller that can effectively prevent hair wrapping.

Our verdict:

If you have pets and a lot of hard floors, our recommendation is the Dyson V8 Absutale. In this, you will get a pet brush, upholstery and crevice tool, and a soft brush roller. But you may feel a lack of suction, and it has only two suction-adjusting features.

If you need more run time, more cleaning power, and more dustbin capacity, the Dyson V10 will be a better option. On the other hand, if you want to choose a vacuum at less than the price of Dyson, you may check Shark cordless vacuums.

Dyson v8 vs v10 absolute

When it comes to comparing the Dyson V8 with the V10 Absulate, you will get similar attachments in both versions. Both have the soft brush roller in addition to the torque floor head.

As we mentioned, the primary floor head design of the V10 is more advanced than the V8 absolute. It has an adjustable gate that allows it to pick up larger debris from hard floors. The V8 torque head lacks this feature. We also found that the V10 torque head has 20% more agitation power than the V8. So, undoubtedly, the V10 will absolutely clean more debris with a single pass every time. However, the result was identical when we tested both vacuums on hard floors with soft brush roller.

Our verdict:

You may choose anyone, but the V10 Absulate will give you more cleaning power, more dustbin capacity, more run time and more carpet cleaning effectiveness than the V8.
